Managing Editor Wanted

Reporting to: Head of Content
Key areas of accountability:
Under the direction of the Head of Content, the managing editor will ensure the smooth production of campaigns and projects – from briefing designers and writers, to managing budgets and a team of content developers. The Managing Editor will oversee a range of content development projects from animation, social media content development to design.
Establish and maintain a professional relationship with clients.
Coordinate with various teams so that the clients expectations are met.
Continue their assessment of a client’s needs and business objectives.
Help develop initiatives to increase client satisfaction and retention.
Upsell company’s services and solutions.
Manage client’s projects from beginning to end.
Operating as the lead point of contact for any and all matters specific to your accounts
Building and maintaining strong, long-lasting customer relationships
Assisting and writing briefs and proposal
Creating and managing budgets
Leading a team to provide the utmost level of client service
Performing quality assurance (including sub-editing and giving initial feedback to content creators) to ensure team produces excellent work
Completing projects and campaigns to a specific schedule and within an agreed budget
Managing a team of content developers and overseeing their day to day management
All admin and billing related to project/campaign
Reviewing and sub-editing content to ensure they hit content objectives
Offering feedback and guidance to team of content creators
Brainstorm and develop content ideas for campaigns, projects and Digify Africa’s platforms
Ensure team of content creators develop quality and interesting content for client and internal projects.
Ensure excellent delivery of Digify Africa projects and living company values
Responsible for excellence in the delivery of our projects and programmes
Ensure all projects stick to set financial, timeline and delivery targets
Deliver quality work for clients/ partners and help build and grow those relationships
Drive forward campaigns assigned to you
Finding the best solutions and developing accurate timelines
Driving excellence throughout - from project creation to implementation and reporting
Ensuring relevant internal and external stakeholders are consulted within the project timelines
Maintaining alignment with brief and strategy throughout project delivery
Ensuring processes are adhered to: designing brilliant teams, understanding audiences, strategy, idea generation, implementation and delivery, and co-creation
Creative problem-solving, finding quick and effective solutions to ensure projects stay on time and within budget.
Managing and overseeing successful day to day client and supplier relationships
Participating in presenting externally or selling Digify Africa
Participating in pitches, proposal writing, creds and presentations
Driving forward organic growth within existing clients
Identify upselling opportunities within projects
Finance and monitoring:
Work with finance to ensure your budgets are managed well and adhere to process
Responsible for the management of client budgets and maintaining profitability throughout the project life span.
Reconciliation and budgets are completed to deadline
Ensuring the team are raising POs and invoices on time
Qualifications and Experience
Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience essential
5 years of working experience beneficial
Professional content experience, with a strong knowledge of digital marketing, journalism and multimedia content creation.
Highly organised, with excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Skills and Attributions

Fully computer literate - MS Office (Ms Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google suite essential

Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, presentation)
